Bowling Teams Victorious in Conference Tournament at Kirtland

Both bowling teams were in action for the first time in two weeks, as conference action resumed after the cancellation of last week's Muskegon's crossover event.

The teams looked to win their second consecutive conference tournament after their week one win at Wayne County.

The women won convincingly, by a 370 pin margin over second place Schoolcraft College. Becca Claypool led the way for the Lady Lakers with a 490 series and a 184 high game. The 490 series was good for second in the women's event. Amelia King was second of the Laker bowlers with a 452 series and a 181 high game. Olivia Moss threw a 184 game to tie the high for the team and threw a 443 series.

The men won their side of the event by 201 pins, and swept the men's awards. Leading the way for the Lakers was Jake Mathewson with a 612 series. Mathewson had a pair of 200 games (225 and 219) as well. Taylor Parker threw the high game for the Lakers, and in the event, with a 232 game. Ruberto Mosqueda threw a 562 series for the second best series for the Lakers.

The Laker bowling teams will return to action on Friday, 1/26 when they bowl at Saint Clair County Community College's MCCAA Eastern Conference Event at Bowl-O-Drome. Scoring begins at 11:00 AM
