Women's Bowling Wins at SC4, Men Finish Runner-Up

Both bowling teams were looking to win their third consecutive MCCAA Eastern Conference tournament when they traveled to Bowl-O-Drome to bowl at Saint Clair County Community College's (SC4) home event.

The women got off to a good start, shooting two Petersen games over 800, building up a good lead heading into bakers. After the bakers, the Lady Lakers won the tournament by 308 pins over the Schoolcraft College Ocelots.

Skylar Davy led the tournament field with a 562 series. Davy tossed a high game of 200 for the tournament. Khaila Bullard finished third in the tournament field with a 524 series. Bullard threw the high game in the house for the women with a 213. The Lady Lakers swept the tournament, winning the team event, high game, and high series for the women's event.

The tournament win inched the Lakers closer to clinching the MCCAA Eastern Conference with one regular season tournament to go.

The men had a solid day, shooting two games over 1,000 in the Petersen games. This put them in a tight second place behind host school Saint Clair County. The Lakers trailed by 79 pins heading into bakers. They trimmed the lead down, but it wasn't good enough to overcome the existing deficit, falling just short to SC4 by 25 pins.

Brett Petersen finished third in the tournament with a 625 series. Petersen tied teammate Angelo Porter with the high game in the house, with a 255 game. Taylor Parker finished fourth in the event with a 617 series. Porter finished sixth in the event with a 603 series.

Both teams return to action on Friday, February 3rd at 11:00 AM when they host their home event at Riverwood.
