Moore Tabbed Northern Conference Runner of the Year Headlining Conference Meet for Lakers
The Laker cross country teams traveled to Muskegon Community College to partake in the Northern Conference MCCAA Meet. This is the race which would determine All-Conference honors, and the Lakers were well-represented on a conference level.
On the men's side, freshman Drew Moore led the way not just for the Lakers, but for the field. Moore won the race with a time of 28:00:09, finishing 15 seconds ahead of the next closest runner. This resulted in Moore being named the MCCAA Northern Conference runner of the year! Moore was also named All-Conference and was a member of the All-Conference Freshman team. Finishing in fourth place, sophomore Mason Cross also earned himself All-Northern Conference recognition with a time of 28:24:62.
On the women's side, freshman Natalie Lemert finished 11th out of the 30 runner field with a time of 22:39:14. This was good enough to earn her All-Northern Conference honors as well!
It was a strong showing for the Lakers as the program continues to grow and improve every week! They'll return to action on Friday, October 4th in Gaylord at Kirtland CC.
