Softball Splits Road Doubleheader at Jackson College
The Lady Laker softball team hit the road for a non-conference doubleheader with Jackson College. The Lakers came into the ocntest at 19-20 on the season, while Jackson came in at 27-15.
Game one Jackson got the best of the visiting Lakers in a 8-0 mercy rule game after 6 innings of play. Angelina Lanham had a multi-hit game. Ella Clauss had the other hit for the Lakers.
Game two, the Lakers came back swinging, and took down the Jets 10-6. Shelby Bundy earned the win, throwing 6 innings allowing just 3 earned runs while striking out 7 batters. Mackenzie Hoogerhyde had a big game, going 3-4 at the plate with a double and 3 RBI. Maggie Wallace also turned in a good game, going 2-3 at the plate with a pair of doubles and 2 RBI. Grace Garrison and Rylie Shafer each had a double in the game, while Shafer had an RBI.
The Lady Lakers split the series with Jackson College to pull their season record to 20-21. They will head north to take on the Alpena Lumberjacks in a five game weekend series as they wind down conference play.
