Men’s Basketball’s Comeback Falls Short

Mid Michigan College's Men's Basketball played host to the Jackson College Jets in their first game back after the New Year.


The Lakers saw a 5-point deficit at halftime and fell behind by as many as 16 in the second half. After a
strong surge to close out the second half, and a Delon McCloud buzzer-beating jumper to end the
the second half, the Lakers fell short of a successful comeback, losing 106-96 in overtime.
 
McCloud was among 4 fellow starters to hit double-digit points in the contest. He finished with 18 points, 6 rebounds,
and 4 assists prior to fouling out in OT. Javel Lewis Jr. had a double-double performance with 20 points and
13 rebounds alongside 4 assists and a blocked shot.
 
Jayden Sims finished the game shooting 7 of 12 from the field and 3 of 4 from beyond the three-point line, scoring 17 points with 3 assists.
 
Satchel Love also turned in a strong performance scoring 16 points while shooting 7 of 10 from the field while grabbing 6 rebounds.

Devin Watts turned in a double-digit scoring game off the bench, shooting 4 of 7 from the field for 13 points.
 
The Lakers return to action Friday, January 6 at Kellogg Community College in Battle Creek.
