Danville, IL - The 2025–26 season was a historic one for the Mid Michigan College men's basketball team, marking the most successful campaign in program history.
The Lakers entered the NJCAA Division II National Tournament with a 25–4 record as the No. 10 seed and opened play against No. 7 seed Danville Area Community College. Despite a strong effort, Mid Michigan fell 77–68 in the first round. Amonti Green led the way with 23 points, while Zack Parks added 25 in the loss.
The defeat sent the Lakers to the consolation bracket, where they faced Orange County Community College out of New York. The Colts entered the matchup after dropping their opening-round contest to top-seeded Palm Beach State College.
In a high-scoring affair, Orange County pulled away for a 103–91 victory, bringing Mid Michigan's season to a close. Parks once again paced the Lakers with 20 points, while Jaden Clark added 17 and Vynce Overshown chipped in 16.
Despite the season-ending losses, the Lakers finished with an impressive 25–6 overall record while capturing both the MCCAA Northern Conference Championship and the NJCAA Region XII District B title. The season stands as a milestone for the program—one that will be remembered and celebrated as a foundation for continued success.
