Men's Hoops Stays Hot with 91-70 Win Over Kirtland

Men's basketball picked up a crucial win over Kirtland at home, 91-70 to push their record to 19-5 on the season and 10-1 in conference play. It was a balanced scoring attack for the Lakers, seeing five players enter double digit scoring, including 4 of the 5 starters. Satchel Love turned in a strong performance, highlighted by an emphatic putback slam. Love had a team high 16 points, he also added 7 rebounds and a pair of blocks. Jayden Sims scored 14 points and dished out 5 assists. Devin Watts scored 13 off the bench, on an efficient 5-6 shooting from the field, and 3-3 from three. Delon McCloud scored 11 points and had 4 assists as well. Javel Lewis Jr. continued his strong season with yet another double-double game with 11 points, 11 rebounds, and 2 blocks. 

With the win, the men have clinched a top two finish in the MCCAA Northern Conference, securing them a spot in the state tournament March 7, 10, and 12.

The Lakers next game is Wednesday, 2/22 at Muskegon Community College.
