Men's Basketball Uses Strong Second Half to Down Muskegon on the Road

After falling behind in the first half, the Lakers outscored the Muskegon Jayhawks 39-29 in the second half to come away with a narrow 65-64 road win. This game came on the heels of a heartbreaking loss to Bay College, so the strong second half performance was needed for the Lakers to get back on track. The win pulls their final regular season record to 21-6 and they finished 12-2 in conference play. In the contest, Delon McCloud led the Lakers surge with 18 points on a 5-9 shooting night. He also had 5 rebounds and 3 steals. Javel Lewis Jr. added in 12 points, 9 rebounds, and 2 blocks. Kaiden McGillis had a strong game off the bench scoring 10 points, going 3-4 from three. The Lakers return to action in the first round of the Great Lakes District Tournament when they play host to the Kirtland CC Firebirds on Tuesday, 3/7.
