Men's Basketball Loses First Game of the Season to #14 Parkland

Men's basketball had their second consecutive matchup with a top-25 ranked team in NJCAA Division-II. After defeating #19 Saint Clair County CC, men's basketball hit the road for the Edison State Tip-Off Tournament, where their first opposition was #14 Parkland College. The Lakers held a narrow lead at the half 36-29. A strong second half by the Parkland Cobras surged them to a victory 76-71, handing the Lakers their first loss of the season.

The Lakers were led by Delon McCloud who had a strong performance from the floor, scoring 24 points on 9-16 shooting, including 4-7 from three. McCloud also dished 5 assists and grabbed 4 rebounds. Devin Watts contributed 14 points, including 4-7 shooting from three. De'Antre Griffin scored 7 points, grabbed 7 rebounds and had 2 steals. Joe Iung had 9 points, providing a spark off the bench early in the game.

The Lakers look to bounce back from the loss as they take on the Edison State Chargers on the second day of the tip-off tournament.
