Lakers Bounce Back with 94-81 Win Over Edison State
Men's hoops took the floor in game two of the Edison State Tip-Off Tournament looking to bump their record a game above .500 in the young season. They took on the host school of the tip-off tournament, the Edison State Chargers. The Lakers got off to a blazing start, scoring 52 points in the first half, en route to a 13-point road victory. The win pulls their record to 2-1 early on in the season.
The Lakers were led in scoring yet again by Delon McCloud with his scorching hot start to the season. McCloud shot 9-14 from the field and 4-7 from three, resulting in a 25-point performance. He also grabbed 6 rebounds in the game. Fellow back court member Devin Watts also turned in a good performance, scoring 16 points on 5-7 shooting from the field, while knocking down all five free throw attempts. Watts also dished out 4 assists and had 2 steals. Nick Ellis chipped in 14 points, 7 rebounds, and 2 steals. De'Antre Griffin rounded out the double digit scorers for the Lakers, scoring 10 points on 4-9 shooting. Joe Iung led bench scorers with 8 points.
The Lakers will return to action on Thursday, November 9th when they play host to the Alma College Scots JV program with a 6:30 PM tip off.
