Men's Basketball Wins Fourth Straight, Pulls Record to 5-1

Men's basketball received their first national ranking in program history, checking into the NJCAA D-II Polls at #19 after a thriller win over #2 Henry Ford. The Lakers traveled to Schoolcraft College to take on the Ocelots. They took a 10-point lead into the half, 42-32. The Ocelots trimmed the lead down, and got to within three points in the second half, but the #19 Lakers fended off Schoolcraft 79-72. 

Leading the way in scoring was Nick Ellis who had 19 points on 6-11 shooting. Ellis also tallied 6 rebounds and a steal. Devin Watts scored 15 points on 4-7 shooting, including 3-4 from three. Watts also contributed 3 rebounds, 2 assists and 2 steals. James Wright notched a double-double performance with 12 points, 11 rebounds, and 2 steals. Delon McCloud rounded out the double digit scoring with 10 points. McCloud also added 3 assists and 2 rebounds. 

The Lakers return to action on Tuesday, November 21st when they play host to the Oakland Community College Raiders at 7:00 PM.
