#18 Men's Basketball Uses Strong Second Half to Down Oakland, Move to 6-1

Men's basketball moved up to #18 in the NJCAA Division II Poll, looking to continue to climb the ranks and build on their 5-1 start to the season. The Lakers hosted the Oakland Community College Raiders, and the Raiders came out firing on all cylinders, jumping out to a 12-3 advantage. The Lakers chipped away, and took a 5-point lead into the halftime break. The second half was a strong advantage for the Lakers, outscoring the Raiders 52-41, allowing them to coast to a 88-72 win. The victory pulled their record to 6-1 early on this season.

Leading the team in scoring was Nick Ellis with 21 points on 9-12 shooting, including a couple of rim rocking dunks. Ellis also added 4 rebounds and 2 assists. Delon McCloud continued his hot start to the season, with 20 points on 7-11 shooting and 6-8 from three point territory. De'Antre Griffin had 15 points, 5 rebounds, 4 assists, 2 steals, and a block. Devin Watts contributed 8 points on 3-5 shooting, including 2-4 from three. Watts also dished out 6 assists. 

The Lakers will return to action on Tuesday, November 28th when they travel to Alma College to take on the Scots (JV).
