Men's Hoops Drops Home Game to #11 Henry Ford
Men's basketball came in off of back-to-back wins looking to make it three wins in a row. The Lakers took down Henry Ford College earlier in the season on the road, and looked to make it 2-0 versus a perennial top-10 ranked team in the Hawks.
The visiting Hawks jumped on the host Lakers early, taking a 53-33 lead into the half. The Lakers battled back and forth in the second half, and could not overcome the first half deficit. Henry Ford came in and took the win 102-79.
The loss was the third of the year for the Lakers, pulling their record to 8-3. Leading the way in scoring was Delon McCloud with 35 points. McCloud shot an efficient 10-17 from the field, including 7-11 from beyond the three point line, while dishing 3 assists and had 3 steals. Devin Watts flirted with a double-double, going for 17 points and 8 rebounds. Watts shot 6-13 from the field and 4-10 from three. James Wright and Nick Ellis each added 10 points to round out the double digit scorers for the game. Wright added 7 rebounds and an assists. Ellis added 4 rebounds and a pair of blocks.
The Lakers return to action on Saturday, January 6th when they travel to take on the Jackson College Jets.
