Men's Basketball Wins Third Straight Conference Game with Road Win at Delta

Men's hoops came into the road game at the Delta College Pioneers winners of back-to-back games in conference play, hoping to make it three in a row.

The first half of the game was dominated by the Lakers, with 4 starters having scored double digits in the first 20 minutes. The lead was 58-20 over the host Pioneers. 

The Lakers extended the lead in the second half, widening the final margin by 11, a 112-63 road win over the Pioneers. This was their third consecutive MCCAA Northern Conference victory, marking the third time in as many games they eclipsed 95 points scored, two of which went over 100.

The Lakers leading scorer on the season, Delon McCloud, found his stride scoring 27 points in the game on an efficient 10-15 shooting from the field. McCloud also hit 7 threes in the game on 11 tries. Devin Watts continued his tear, scoring 19 points on 7-9 shooting. Watts added 5 rebounds, 4 steals, and 3 assists. De'Antre Griffin also had an efficient day from the floor, shooting 7-10 and 2-3 from three while amassing 16 points. Griffin also snatched 7 rebounds and dished 3 assists. Nick Ellis rounded out the double digit scoring for the Lakers with 11 points, 9 rebounds, and 3 blocks. 

This win pulled the Lakers record to 3-1 in conference play and 11-6 overall with 10 games left to play in the season.

They'll return to action on Saturday, 1/27 when they play host to Alpena Community College. The game is scheduled to tip at 3:00 PM
