Men's Basketball Drops Road Game to #19 Bay College

Men's hoops came into the game with the #19 nationally ranked Bay College Norse with a record of 13-6 and 5-1 record in conference play. The Norse came in with a strong 19-2 record, and came into the game on a 7-game win streak.

It was a fast-paced, energetic game right off the bat. The Lakers and Norse found themselves deadlocked at 10-10 7 minutes into the game. After trading buckets for a stretch, the Norse began to pull away. The Norse finished the half outscoring the Lakers 36-20, resulting in the Lakers trailing at the half of 46-30.

The Lakers and the Norse played a tight second half in which the Lakers found themselves outscoring the Norse by 4, however the visiting Lakers couldn't get the deficit inside of double-digits. The Norse held on for the win 85-73.

James Wright led all scorers for the game with 20 points on 8-14 shooting. Wright also grabbed 6 rebounds and 2 steals. Delon McCloud was the lone other double digit scorer with 15 points. McCloud knocked down three 3-pointers, grabbed 3 rebounds, and notched 2 assists.

The Lakers will return to action on Wednesday, February 7th when they play host to the Grand Rapids Community College Raiders.
