Men's Hoops Wins 105-40 at Kirtland to Move to 17-7

Men's hoops came in winners of their last three games, looking to extend the win streak to four when they traveled to take on the Kirtland CC Firebirds. 

The men got off to a fast start, finding themselves up 57-20 at the half. The Lakers cruised in the second half, winning handily over the Firebirds 105-40.

The Lakers held the Firebirds to under 50 points scored. This marked the first time this season the Lakers held their opposition under 50 points scored. The offense continued to light up the scoreboard, scoring over 100 points for the second consecutive game, and three times in the last four games. After the road win, this pushed the Lakers into a tie for second most points scored per game in the MCCAA. 

James Wright led the team in scoring with 17 points on 8-9 shooting. Delon McCloud and Devin Watts each scored 15 points in the game. Watts shot a solid 6-8 shooting and 3-5 from three. He also added 7 rebounds, 3 steals, and a pair of assists. McCloud shot 6-11 from the field, grabbed 6 rebounds, and added 3 assists and 3 steals. Kaleb Wanamaker added 12 points on 2-4 shooting from three. Nick Ellis and De'Antre Griffin added 9 points each.

The Lakers return to action on Wednesday, 2/21 when they play host to the Muskegon Community College Jayhawks. The game is scheduled to tip at 7:30 PM.
