Bio

De’shawnta Malone is a native of Lansing, Michigan and a 2025 graduate of Waverly High School. A passionate basketball player, Malone takes pride in being a role model for his younger sisters and credits his family—especially his mother, Markeida Adams—for the constant support and encouragement that helped shape his journey.

On the court, Malone played both point guard and shooting guard, earning All-Conference honors, MVP recognition, and serving as a team captain during his high school career. His leadership, energy, and love for the game define what makes him who he is.

Malone was drawn to Mid Michigan College by the staff and positive environment. He is excited to compete because of the welcoming atmosphere and strong team culture within the athletics program. His goals include winning championships and creating lasting memories as a Laker.

Academically, Malone plans to major in Electrical Engineering, working toward an associate degree before transferring to Grand Valley State University. He looks forward to developing skills such as time management, goal setting, and academic success while continuing to grow both on and off the court at Mid.
