Bio

Christian Zielinski joins the Mid Michigan College men’s basketball program as a motivated transfer from Saginaw Valley State University, bringing experience, resilience, and a scorer’s mentality to the Lakers. A native of Midland, Michigan, Zielinski is eager for a fresh start at Mid after facing early adversity in his collegiate career.

Zielinski spent his freshman and sophomore seasons at SVSU, where he redshirted his first year and battled injury during his second season. Those challenges strengthened his perspective and determination, and he now looks to turn the page and make the most of his opportunity at Mid Michigan College.

A graduate of Midland Dow High School (Class of 2023), Zielinski was a standout basketball player throughout his prep career. He served as a team captain, earned First Team All-Conference honors, and set the school scoring record at Dow. In the classroom, he matched his athletic success with excellence, graduating with a 3.9 GPA.

Christian is the son of Mark and Mary Zielinski, whose support has been instrumental in his athletic and academic journey. He learned about Mid through the basketball coaching staff, whose outreach helped solidify his decision to join the program. Zielinski believes Mid is the right fit to help him grow both as a player and as a person.

He has high expectations for the Lakers, with goals focused on growth and winning. Athletically, Zielinski hopes to earn a scholarship at a four-year college following his time at Mid. Academically, he plans to study Physical Education while working to transfer credits and continue developing his goal-setting skills.

With his scoring ability, leadership background, and renewed motivation, Christian Zielinski looks to make an immediate impact for the Lakers and help push the program forward.
