Baseball Splits with Alma College, Pulls Record to 27-13
Baseball took on the Alma College Scots as one final tune-up series before postseason play. The Lakers traveled to Alma for the double header looking to improve on their 26-12 record.
Game one, Jarrett Inscho was on the mound. Inscho threw 3 innings allowing just 2 earned runs. However, the Scots got to the Laker's bullpen, amassing 7 hits and 11 runs off of the relivers, resulting in a 13-8 loss to open the double header. The Lakers swung the bats well, with Andrew Charters, Beau Falkenhagen, Donovan Borg, and Brendan Mendoza having multi-hit games. Charters had a three hit game. Falkenhagen had a double as part of a two hit game. Borg had a double and a homerun as part of a 4 RBI game.
Game two, Alex Duley was on the mound. Duley pitched 3 innings, allowing 2 earned runs. The Lakers took the lead in the third inning and did not look back. The Scots tried to rally in the seventh inning, but the Lakers held on to a 8-7 win to split the double header. Falkenhagen had a 4-4 game with a pair of doubles and 4 runs driven in. Matt Barger had a solo homerun as part of a two hit game. Tyler Duncan had a double and a triple in the game. Brady Alverson had a triple as a part of a two hit game.
The Lakers finish the regular season with a 27-13 record heading into postseason play. Their opponent, site, and time is still undetermined, but the NJCAA District Postseason Tournament begins Thursday, May 11th.
